Celebrant

“Ceremony is a living poem... Good ceremony makes room for all the dimensions of human experience in the hope that, together, we will discover something that transforms us."

Kathleen Norris, ‘The Cloister Walk’

I am a non-denominational minister and civil celebrant, trained in the art of ceremony; open to all cultures, beliefs, and ideas. I've been crafting ceremony with individuals, families, and communities for over 25 years. I am dedicated to celebrating spiritual, intellectual, and cultural diversity. Whether you are planning a simple family gathering or a community event, it is my honor and privilege to collaborate with you, your family, and friends.

Some occasions call for ceremony shaped by formal ritual, some call for skill with the unscripted moment. Together, we’ll craft a ceremony that fits right for your occasion. Events I am available for include: baby welcome, milestone anniversaries, vow renewal celebrations, new house blessings and old house farewells; and ceremonies for end of life celebrations, memorial services, funerals, and burial.

Whether you want to make simple ceremony with close family in the comfort of home, ask a group of friends to convene in nature, or host hundreds for a formal affair; you will gather the right people, in the right place, at the right time. I will help you find the right words and together we will cultivate balance.

This is how it works:

Be in touch with me, my contact information is at the bottom of this page. We can get started via email, text, or talk on the phone. Tell me about your plans (date, time, location, purpose) and if we decide to go forward we'll discuss your event in more detail. We can assess together how my services will best match your needs, including but not limited to: interviewing and research, writing and editing, venue interface, ceremony facilitation, and general encouragement.

A few things you should know:

  • If we're local and/or it helps, I can make home visits.

  • If I don't offer or know something then I will help you find someone who does.

  • I work on a sliding fee scale, there is always a fair and affordable way.
